Promising Southampton duo Kegs Chauke and Thierry Small will spend the 2022-23 season in League One.

The teenagers will be looking for first team minutes at Exeter City and Port Vale respectively.

Last season, Chauke made 20 appearances for Southampton’s Under 23 side in Premier League 2. He made his full debut for Saints in an FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury Town in January 2021, but hasn’t appeared since.

19-year-old Chauke impressed on trial at Exeter during pre-season and the Grecians have decided to take up the option to loan him for a season.

Small traveled with the Southampton first team for their pre-season training camp in Austria, making appearances in the friendly games against RB Leipzig and SK Austria Klagenfurt.

Only 17, the highly-touted Small arrived at Saints last summer, moving from Premier League rivals Everton.

Small also made his full Southampton debut in the FA Cup, playing in the game against Coventry City back in February last season.

At such a young age, Small has the chance to make his mark on the senior game during his stay at Vale Park.
