Southampton unveiled their away kit for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign.
It’s out-there, to say the least.

‘Bold’ seems to be Southampton’s buzz word in pre-season and the new away kit is definitely that.
The teal, aqua and gold away shirt apparently takes inspiration from the docks and Southampton’s proximity to the Solent.
“A design as eye-catching and unpredictable as the swirling south coast seas that inspired it,” said Southampton in the official press release. “The kit is matched with teal and aqua shorts and socks. Both are complete with two of hummel’s iconic chevrons in gold, taking inspiration from hummel’s retro kits.”

There was more bold talk from Allan Vad Nielsen, hummel’s CEO.
“We are proud of our partnership with Southampton. This season’s away shirt has given us the chance to work together to really push the boundaries and create the boldest yet,” said Vad Nielsen. “It’s a bold direction to take, but we hope this has resulted in a shirt that will spark conversations amongst fans and inspire them to be brave in wearing it.”
The new Saints away kit is now available for purchase in store and online.

Southampton’s new home kit has split fan opinion and it’s safe to say that the club’s ‘bold’ approach to kit design with hummel for the season has done the same with the new Saints away offering.
Here’s a snapshot below.
It's been really split.

Half the fans love it (including myself) and half hate it.
More likely to sell than shirts that are just meh.
Bloody awful kit.

Torn between which shirt to start the season off with! Really liking the different look for the away shirt.

“This seasons away shirt is our boldest yet.” If bold means: we know out kits are horrible and just dont care, then they have nailed it spot on.

Imagine watching an another away match where we lose 9-0 AND we are wearing the ugliest kits in football.
If you thought the new home kit was bad the away kit is truly dreadful.

Understand this away kit is gonna be a hit or miss with #saintsfc fans, it's bold, but I like it, a lot.
