Southampton vs Manchester United team news

Southampton are steadily building some momentum following a come-from-behind draw against Leeds United and victories over Leicester City and Cambridge United in the past week.

However, Saints will be facing a buoyant Manchester United following their commanding 2-1 victory over local rivals Liverpool on Monday night.

Romain Perraud could be available for selection after he recovered from a groin issue, giving Ralph Hasenhuttl some more defensive options.

Tino Livramento remains a long-term absentee for Southampton as he continues rehab for his knee injury.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag could give new signing Casemiro, who signed from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, his first appearance as a Red Devil on Saturday afternoon. The Brazilian has received his work permit, something he couldn’t get in time for that aforementioned Liverpool match.

Some bad news for United fans, though. Anthony Martial, one of Monday night’s difference makers, has been ruled out with an Achilles injury. Victor Lindelof also remains unavailable for selection.

Manchester United
